MegaGro FAQ
What is MegaGro?
MegaGro is the first product designed to bring
state-of-the-art growing compounds to the recreational gardener.
Used by commercial growers for years to improve crop yields, this
formula is now available to the general public. MegaGro is great
for any type of gardening: flower gardening, vegetable gardening,
rose gardening, indoor gardening, you name it. MegaGro is a
solution containing gibberellins, a naturally occurring plant
growth hormone. The solution is misted onto indoor and outdoor
plants for better plant care.
Will MegaGro work on my
plants?
This is a common question. MegaGro can be used on
all varieties of ornamentals, including houseplants, flowers, trees
and shrubs. MegaGro can also be used in your garden on fruits and
vegetables. You can start by downloading our Growing Tips at the end of the page. If
you do not find a particular species, never fear. MegaGro has been
designed as a general all-purpose growth solution that can be used
on almost every variety. We are continually updating Growing Tips as we collect more
data.
Is MegaGro safe?
MegaGro is safe to use on all houseplants, outdoor
plants, fruits, and vegetables, and does not harm our ecosystem.
MegaGro contains no harmful chemicals, and is 100% safe for
use around plants, people, pets, and the planet. The active
ingredient in MegaGro is commercially used to grow most fruits
and vegetables we eat.'
Is MegaGro safe around pets? How long should
I wait after applying before I let them on it?
All our Lawn Care products are 100% safe for
use around pets. As long as you sprayed with a hose end sprayer,
and gave the lawn a light rinse, then the lawn is ready for
use immediately after it dries.
Where can I purchase MegaGro in my area?
Our products are available exclusively at MegaGro.com
and through select gardening catalogs. We offer free shipping
on orders of $40 or more.
How often should I use
MegaGro?
You can spray MegaGro on your plants with every
watering. For specific effects such as increase bloom size or
larger fruit, consult our Growing Tips for more detailed
information
Can I add MegaGro to my watering
solution?
MegaGro should be sprayed, not poured onto the
plants roots. Spraying delivers MegaGro in a targeted fashion to
the growing area of the plant, be it foliage or blossom. It also
provides a way to deliver repeated treatments without
over-watering.
Can I use MegaGro with
fertilizer?
YES! MegaGro will work with or without fertilizers
or plant foods, but is best when used with fertilizer. Fertilizers
and plant food provide the basic building blocks for a plant to
grow and MegaGro gives your plants the added extra ingredient for
exceptional growth. We recommend using Algoflash as an excellent
all-purpose liquid fertilizer.
Can I use MegaGro with ANY type of
plant?
YES! This is the most common question we get.
MegaGro will work with ALL plants, from flowers, to fruits and
vegetables to trees and shrubs. MegaGro contains a naturally
occurring growth booster that ALL plants produce themselves when
they grow. TO learn more about how to use MegaGro on your specific
plant type, follow the link below called Using MegaGro on specific
plants.
Is MegaGro Organic?
The active ingredients in MegaGro, are naturally occurring growth
hormone. All plants produce these growth boosters during key
growth periods of their life cycle, sprouting from seed, producing
flower buds and producing fruit. The term organic has recently
been specifically defined by the FDA and EPA under the NOP
Standards Program, largely, in part, to clearly identify consumers
foods grown without the use of pesticides. This program prohibits
the use of the word organic in any labeling of products, which
are not produced in accordance with The National Organic Program
Act. Under definitions in the act, a substance is deemed synthetic
if the substance is formulated or manufactured by a chemical
process or by a process that chemically changes a substance
extracted from naturally occurring plant, animal, or mineral
sources. But like many of the vitamins we take, the active
is ingredient in MegaGro is natural. A good comparison is
Vitamin E, derived from soybeans, which also cannot be labeled
organic. Thus MegaGro can best be described as manufactured
from natural source. Under the NOP Act, organic gardeners
can still use MegaGro and label the produce using the Organic
or Made With Organic.
What is the Shelf-Life of MegaGro?
The recommended shelf-life for MegaGro is 2
years; however we have found that the solution has proven
active up to 5 years. The key variables in the decrease in
potency of MegaGro are light and heat. We package in opaque
bottles to prevent light degradation and our product is rarely
exposed to high temperatures. If stored in a cool, dark place,
MegaGro should maintain potency for several years.

other products that is not answered here, please contact us and we will get back to you as soon as
we can.

Using MegaGro on various plant species?
MegaGro has a tremendous variety of uses from
seed germination to fruit and flower set. Click here to learn more about how to use
MegaGro on different plant types.
What is the concentration of MegaGro?
The spray bottle is a 10 ppm (parts per
million) solution. The concentrate is a 1600 ppm (.16%) solution.
Using the MegaGro Concentrate
MegaGro Concentrate is designed to be very
easy to use. You can make easy make any concentration you like.
Each capful of MegaGro Concentrate added to 32 oz. of water makes a
10 ppm solution. To make a 20 ppm solution, simply add 2 capfuls,
30 ppm 3 capfuls and so on. To make 1 gallon of spray, add 4
capfuls of the MegaGro 8 oz Concentrate (1 oz).
1 capful = .23 oz or 5.9 mL
1 oz. of MegaGro Concentrate contains .5 grams
of active ingredient.
Seed
Germination
MegaGro is great for seed
germination. Generally MegaGro will produce a significant
increase in germination rates and post-germination growth rates.
MegaGro is most effective on species which develop a hard seed
coat.
The most prudent way to test MegaGro on your seeds is to use a 50
ppm solution of MegaGro (5 capfuls [1 ounce] of Concentrate in 32oz
of water) on a small sample of your seeds. Keep the seeds moist
until they germinate. If the species you are working with has a
hard seed coat, scarification (knick seed coat with a razor blade)
of the seed coat in conjunction with the MegaGro treatment should
boost your results. For more detailed information on seed
germination, we recommend that you review Seed
Germination Theory and Practice by Norman C. Deno or read more at
