Lawn Honey FAQ
What is Lawn Honey?
Lawn Honey is an amazing polymer that actually
binds soil and fertilizer particles together at the root zone for
healthier grass and plants. Lawn Honey makes growing grass a
breeze. Lawn Honey is a super soil penetrant that has excellent
filtration properties to get water and nutrients into the root zone
where they are needed most. Lawn Honey helps prevent salt build-up
and will reduce plant stress. Lawn Honey will not hold excess
moisture and allows are for excellent flow-through of heavy rains.
It is perfect for preventing puddling in high rainfall areas. Lawn
Honey is perfect for use with new grass seed or grass sod.
Does Lawn Honey work with all types of
grass?
YES. Lawn Honey is a soil treatment, so it doesn't
matter what type of grass you have. It works with all types
of grass including both cool and warm season varieties - Bahia,
Bentgrass, Bermuda, Bluegrass, Buffalo, Carpet, Centipede,
Fescue, Ryegrass, St. Augustine, Floratam and Zoysia.
How does Lawn Honey work to grow
grass?
'Lawn Honey is a negatively charged, high molecular
weight linear copolymer. Soil particles and nutrients are
positively charged. In the presence of aqueous fluids such as water
and water-soluble nutrients, the negatively charged copolymer
structure of Lawn Honey will bind to the positively charged soil
particles and nutrients. This mixture of soil particles, nutrients,
and Lawn Honey is bound tightly together. The net effect of this
process is improved water infiltration into soil. Lawn Honey helps
grow grass anywhere.'
What are the ingredients in lawn
honey?
Lawn Honey is a blend of tiny polyacrylamide
polymers (water-absorbing crystals) and wetting agents. Click here to learn

children?
Lawn Honey is 100% safe for people, pets and the
planet. Lawn Honey will stay active over a period of 4-6 weeks and
then safely breaks down into harmless carbon dioxide, water and
ammonia.
How long should I wait after applying
before I let children or pets back on the lawn?
Lawn Honey is 100% safe for use around pets. As
long as you sprayed with a hose end sprayer, and gave the lawn a
light rinse, then the lawn is ready for use immediately after it
dries.
Is the $17.95 hose-end sprayer just the
sprayer or does it include the product?
The Lawn Honey Hose-End Sprayer comes filled with
Lawn Honey
Can I use Lawn Honey if I already have a
service like TruGreen or Chemlawn?
YES. Our products won't interfere with these types
of programs and should eventually help you get more out of the
fertilizer you use.
Can I apply Lawn Honey at the same time as
your other lawn care products like Liquid Rake, SoilSyrup or
MegaGro?
YES!, Yes. All of our products are compatible. You
can combine the other products in the same tank or hose end sprayer or simply apply
them one right after the other. ***Mixing Lawn Honey with other
products is only recommended in tanks larger than 5 gallons.
Can I apply Lawn Honey in addition to a
fertilizer?
Lawn Honey can used in conjuction with fertilizers
and other lawn care products. In fact, we offer a complete Lawn
Care package the includes Lawn Honey, Algoflash fertilizer and
SoilSyrup soil conditioner. Everything you need for complete lawn
care!
What about applying it with
pesticides?
It is not recommended. Lawn Honey may enhance the
activity of the pesticide and may cause turf damage in hot, dry
weather conditions.
How will Lawn Honey help me in
irrigation?
Research has shown that Lawn Honey delivers greater
irrigation efficiency through improved water penetration and
infiltration, less soil movement and erosion, cleaner runoff, less
pesticide movement, and decreased water usage. A 30% reduction in
irrigation can be expected. So you can water less when growing
grass.
What are the other benefits of growing
grass with Lawn Honey?
Research trials have shown that soil nutrient
retention is greatly increased with the use of Lawn Honey.
Positively charged nutrients are electrostatically bound to the
negatively charged sites along the Lawn Honey polymer chain. This
bond is strong enough to slow leaching, thus making these nutrients
available over longer time periods for plant uptake. Further
laboratory results show over 30% additional nitrogen is retained in
the soil where Lawn Honey has been used. Lawn Honey, through its
binding activity, has key environmental benefits such as the
limitation of soil erosion through cohesion, the reduction of soil
compaction due to surface roughness from agglomeration, and
significant reduction in soil, fertilizer, and pesticide loss due
to run-off. The net effect is an easier way to grow grass.
How do I apply Lawn Honey?
Lawn Honey can be applied simply by attaching the bottle to a
water hose. Turn the hose on and spray your lawn with a sweeping
motion. There is no need to coat an area more than once. Lawn
Honey comes in a spray bottle with a hose-end attachment.
Simply, hook up your hose, and spray Lawn Honey on your lawn.
One application lasts 4-6 weeks.
NOTE: DO NOT MIX WITH WATER or ANY WATER-BASED
PRODUCTS
How often do I need to apply Lawn
Honey?
Lawn Honey will last up to 4 6 weeks in the soil.
For best results, apply Lawn Honey at 5-week intervals to maximize
product benefits and start growing grass the easy way. Lawn Honey
is great for new grass sod to help improve root growth and grow
grass roots quickly.
Can I use another sprayer with Lawn
Honey?
You can, but we don't recommend it. It's very
important to get the right mix ratio, that's why we provide a spray
that outputs the correct mixture of water and Lawn Honey.
Can I mix other products in with Lawn
Honey?
NO, Lawn Honey is a water absorbing substance and if you mix other
liquids in with Lawn Honey it will absorb that water and thicken.
NOTE: DO NOT MIX WITH WATER or ANY WATER-BASED
PRODUCTS
Is Lawn Honey a replacement to my current
wetting agents?
Yes. Wetting agents work by making ;water wetter;
but do nothing as a soil conditioner. Lawn Honey actually works as
a soil conditioner increasing net water infiltration by maintaining
and improving soil structure.
How much does Lawn Honey cost?
Lawn Honey costs less that $3.00 per 1,000 square
feet of turf, and will pay for itself in reduced watering and
fertilizer costs. Our refill packet costs less than $2.00 per 1,000
square feet.
Will Lawn Honey reduce soil sodium
levels?
Since Lawn Honey significantly increases net water
infiltration, soil sodium is moved downward through the soil
profile away from the primary root zone. Studies have indicated
reduced soil sodium levels from 15% to over 40% in the top twelve
inches depending upon soil type.
What is the Shelf-Life of Lawn
Honey?
If stored in a cool, dry place, Lawn Honey will
remain effective for several years. You should avoid storing in
areas where it may be exposed to extreme heat or freezing.
My Hose-end Sprayer isn't working
correctly, what should I do?
Troubleshooting Your Hose-End Sprayer: If your Lawn
Honey hose-end does not appear to be outputting, make sure that
water has not gotten into the hose-end bottle. You notice this if
the Lawn Honey has become white and gooey. If this occurs clean the
dip tube thoroughly and re-attach.
NOTE: Cleaning your Lawn Honey hose-end sprayer. As
a water-absorbing polymer, Lawn Honey can be tricky to clean. DO
NOT use water initially to clean the sprayer. Use an acidic
solution like lemon juice, vinegar or even coffee to rinse the
sprayer.
The sprayer force is dependent on your home water
pressure. If it is coming out too fast, you can either turn the
water pressure down on the garden hose, or stand further away from
the watering area.
