Crabgrass Killer FAQ
Is Crabgrass Killer safe?
Yes, Crabgrass Killer is safe around people, pets,
and the environment.
Where can I purchase Crabgrass Killer in my
area?
Our products are available exclusively at
MegaGro.com and through select gardening catalogs. We offer free
shipping on orders of $40 or more.
How do I use Crabgrass Killer?
It is very easy, just wet with water the area you
want to treat and sprinkle Crabgrass Killer over the area.
How long does it take for the crab grass to
die?
Noticeable results will be seen in 5-7 Days.
How soon can I reseed after using Crabgrass
Killer?
You can begin reseeding after the crabgrass is
noticeable dying, usually 5-7 days. Once you have the crabgrass
under control, you can begin seeding. Crabgrass Killer is a
post-emergence weed killer, so it won't hurt or inhibit grass seed
growth.
How large an area will one bottle
treat?
One 2lb. bottle will treat 100-200 sq. ft.
depending on applicator.
Will it hurt my grass?
NO, Crabgrass Killer will not harm most grass
types, including St. Augustine, Bermuda, Bahia, Centipede,
Bluegrass, Fescues or Ryegrass. We recommend using Crabgrass
Killer only as a spot treatment. Complete lawn applications
are not recommended for any type of lawn.
Will it kill the weed seeds?
NO, it will only kill actively growing crab grass
and weeds.
When is the best time to
apply?
Any time crabgrass is actively growing is a good
time to get a handle on the crabgrass with Crabgrass Killer. The
sooner you killer the less chance it has of going to seed and
compounding the problem. Crabgrass Killer is a post-emergence weed
killer, meaning it will only kill the crabgrass plants, not the
seeds, so any time between early spring and late fall is a good
time to apply.
What do you mean by wet enough and why does
it turn yellow?
Crabgrass Killer turns YELLOW to let you the
consumer know it has been fully activated. Water is the source of
its activation so enough water is needed to activate the yellowing
and begin the process of killing the crabgrass or weed.
Why do I want it activated and How can I
best activate the crabgrass control product?
Within minutes of activation the product begins to
work on killing your crabgrass. Water helps the product stick to
the leaf tissue for absorption. Wet the area to be killed with a
Spray bottle, Backpack sprayer, water hose or irrigation all work
affectively. Dust with the crabgrass powder, wait a few minutes, if
not activated then lightly mist over the product so as to
completely activate. (DO NOT wash the product off of the
leaves)
How long should the crabgrass or weed area
be undisturbed after the product turns yellow?
24 to 48 hours undisturbed. This product is taken
in through the leaves and will "NOT" be taken up through the root
system. Irrigation, mowing and rain can disturb the product enough
to reduce the desired results and may need to be re-applied.
What do you mean by evenly
treated?
More is NOT better, piling this product on weeds
will only serve to cost you more money. A nice light to medium
complete coating is adequate as long as activation was
accomplish.
Is it temperature sensitive?
NO, in all of our years of testing it was 100%
affective in all temperatures common to North America. Killing
crabgrass has never been easier.
Can I use it year-round?
YES, the beset time to kill weeds is in the fall
when they are storing nutrients for winter and throughout the
spring and summer when they are actively growing.
What is the Shelf-Life of Crabgrass
Killer?
If stored in a cool, dry place, Crabgrass Killer
will remain effective for several years. You should avoid storing
in areas where it may be exposed to extreme heat or
freezing.

How to Use Crabgrass Killer
CRABGRASS KILLER works best when applied to wet grass/weed. You
can wet the affected area with a hose, irrigation, spray bottle or
apply product immediately AFTER rain. Product will turn from white
to bright yellow to indicate adequate moisture when applied. If
product has not turned yellow it is not activated. A light to
medium coating in even strokes will work best. Noticeable results
will be seen in 2 to 4 days. Do not apply if rain is forecasted for
several days or prior to watering the lawn to avoid washing away
the product. Reapply as needed.
Note: For Bahia or Common Bermuda, do not use when turf is
dormant or below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
