What is AlfaTrak?

AlfaTrak is the eco-friendly solution to winter traction control. AlfaTrak is a 100% green product that effectively prevents winter slips and falls without damaging property, harming our health, or contaminating the environment. Is AlfaTrak Safe?

Yes, AlfaTrak is 100% safe for everything. It will never stain or damage concrete, brick, wood or metal, nor will it harm plants or grass. Made from 100% alfalfa meal, AlfaTrak is also proven safe to touch, breathe, or ingest by humans, pets and wildlife.

Where can I use AlfaTrak?

Simply use AlfaTrak anywhere around your home or business where people walk or drive on slippery ice and snow. Areas to focus on are sidewalks, driveways, stairs, patios, decks, play areas, landings, pet areas, and parking lots. In the spring, simply sweep AlfaTrak onto your lawn or garden.

Can I use AlfaTrak with ice melters?

Yes, AlfaTrak is uniquely designed to be an excellent complement to ice melters. AlfaTrak's nitrogen content and dark color will help boost the effectiveness of ice melters. And AlfaTrak will provide long-lasting traction while the ice melter is working, and long after it's gone. We recommend using AlfaTrak with an eco-friendly ice melter like IceClear

What else can I use AlfaTrak for?

Is AlfaTrak cost effective?

YES. Our research showed that a 50 lb bag of AlfaTrak can cover up 5000 square feet safely and effectively. That makes AlfaTrak very cost effective at only about $.07 per square foot. That may be slightly more than sand, but AlfaTrak comes with zero damaging effects and is a breeze to work with. AlfaTrack also has multiple uses and make a great fertilizer. Now that's real value for the money. Comparatively, the cost of rock salt for example never includes their destructive impacts to our property, the environment, or to our health that makes them considerably more expensive. Research from the U.S. Transportation Research Board (1991) showed that every ton of salt used for ice melting creates downstream damage of at least $2,000 per ton.

How long will AlfaTrak keep?

If stored in a cool, dry place, AlfaTrak will remain effective for several years.

Directions For Use:

The amount of AlfaTrak required may vary with the amount of snow and ice you have on the surface you're looking to cover.

Traction Control: Spread 1/4 cups per square yard of AlfaTrak. You can hand broadcast or use a spreader. Spread evenly over area to be covered for maximum effectiveness. Add more if surfaces are ice and snow covered or for compacted ice and snow. Quantity and melting action will depend upon temperature and thickness of compacted ice and snow. - Reapply as necessary, no need to worry about over-applying - Store in a dry place. Close and reseal container tightly to keep product dry, or place in moisture proof container.
